The Holy Kaaba key original copy was made for and presented to the custodians of Kaaba in 1435 Hijri (2013 Gregorian year).
The key is made of brass with 24K gold plated & weighs approximately 3.8 kilograms and is 60 centimeters in diameter.
It has the written Quranic verses upon it. بسم اللہ الرحمن الرحیم - إنا فتحنا لك فتحا مبينا
The package contains its Black Kaaba Kiswah bag, unwrapped, and the key.
History. The keys to the Kaaba were bestowed on Tasm, a tribe of ʿĀd before Quraysh. It passed to Khuza'a, then Qusai, who gave it to his son Abdul Dar, who handed it over to his son Othman. It shifted from one person to another until it rested with their nephew Shaiba.
